Quality, reliable thermal printing and plotting requires a high
quality print mechanism, such as those manufactured by B-G Instruments,
Inc., and high quality thermal paper. Over the past few years,
we have run extensive operational tests on several types and brands
of thermal paper, and we have found that many widely used papers exhibit
one or more of the following undesirable properties:
-
The printing may fade, losing contrast to the point of being illegible,
after a few weeks or months of exposure to sunlight or fluorescent lighting.
-
The printing color may not copy well on some brands of office copiers.
Black print on a white background generally copies most satisfactorily.
-
The paper's surface may be coated with a waxy material that may cause
the printhead to adhere to the paper and also cause a buildup of material
on the printhead that degrades the print quality.
B-G Instruments type TP-1,
TP-3,
and TP-4
thermal paper rolls are cut from the highest quality medical grade thermal
paper. These rolls deliver the highest resolution and contrast while avoiding
the problems mentioned above. Each roll contains approximately 25 meters
(82 ft.) rolled with the sensitive side out and a red marker line on the
last meter.
We will be happy to send a free evaluation sample roll to anyone
using our printers who so requests.
